  • Account information — name, email address, username, and profile picture provided during sign-up via Google or Apple.
  • Location data — your approximate location (city-level) to match you with nearby traders. We never store your exact GPS coordinates.
  • Card data — photos and details of trading cards you add to the app.
  • Trade activity — trade proposals, messages, meetup arrangements, reviews, and related interactions.
  • Device information — device type, operating system, and app version for analytics and troubleshooting.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • Match you with nearby collectors based on your interests and location.
  • Facilitate trades, chats, and meetups between users.
  • Display your profile, cards, and reviews to other users.
  • Send notifications about trade activity (if you opt in).
  • Improve the app through anonymized analytics (via PostHog).

3. Information Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only in these cases:

  • With other users — your display name, username, approximate location, profile picture, cards, and reviews are visible to other Swap users.
  • Service providers — we use Cloudinary (image hosting), Microsoft Azure (backend hosting), and PostHog (analytics).
  • Legal requirements — if required by law, court order, or to protect the safety of our users.

4. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored securely on Microsoft Azure servers. Card images are hosted on Cloudinary. We use industry-standard encryption (HTTPS/TLS) for all data in transit and JWT-based authentication to protect your account.

5. Your Rights

  • Access & export — you can view all your data within the app.
  • Delete your account — you can permanently delete your account and all associated data from the Profile screen at any time.
  • Location opt-out — you can deny location permissions; the app will still work but nearby matching will be limited.
  • Notification opt-out — you can disable push notifications in your device settings.

6. Children's Privacy

Swap is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app or via email.
